Based on National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2019, Malaysia is the most obese country in Southeast Asia. The National Health and Morbidity Survey also stated that the obesity rate in Malaysia had reached 51% in 2019. Compared to that of 2011, it has increased 45% with 19.7% individuals suffering from obesity.

According to the survey, the obesity rate among children aged between 5-17 reached up to 30%. There may be one adult suffering from obesity out of every two individuals, whereas in every three children, there may be a child who is obese.

Being overweight means having the body mass index (BMI) of over 25 and being obese means having the BMI of over 30. The BMI calculation divides an adult’s weight in kilograms by their height in metres squared.

For example, PhytoFairy weighs 55 kg and is 1.65 m in height. We may divide 55 kg by 1.65 m twice and the BMI value is 20.2. Ministry of Health of Malaysia has suggested public to maintain their BMI values between 18.5-24.9 because being underweight, overweight or even obese may deeply affect our health.

In fact, we may have some small changes in our daily life so that it may help us to lose some weight. For instance, we can divide a large pack of snacks into small packets to prevent us from finishing it all at once.

Besides that, we may also keep our snacks in the cupboard so that the snacks would be kept out of our sight and remind us to reduce taking in excessive amounts of snacks. Sharing is caring, we may share our snacks with friends and family to maintain lower calories intakes.

While choosing our beverages, we may replace creamer with soy milk or fresh milk; as well as replacing the pearls, taro balls or even puddings in milk tea with Aiyu jelly, aloe vera or grass jelly.

PhytoFairy notices that many people would choose a full sugar option when buying drinks. Actually, we may try with lesser sugar (75%) reducing the sugar content gradually.

If you are willing to choose quarter sugar (25%) or no sugar, that would be the best! We may also choose a smaller cup of drink so that it not only satisfies our cravings but also helps us to reduce our sugar intakes.

PHHP products such as Phyto Aloe Vera Whole Leaf Concentrate, Phyto Chlorophyll Plus Liquid and PhytoNutri are all healthy products without added sugars. Besides helping us to take in less calories, they may also help us remain healthy!

That is all for today, remember to share this information with your loved ones!
